  • Stage 1
    • Chip
      • Typical: a chip: MTM (like AMG, only better), Revo, APR, GIAC. Useful gains in torque, so look at tech sheets closely. HP is usually not very useful on a 3200 pound quattro TT, but more torque is always mobetta. Cost in the US$300-500, depending on variables and options. After 2000, most ECU could be flashed via the OBDII port. Early ECU (99-00) required soldering.
  • Stage 2
    • Chip
    • Exhaust: Borla (modest), Billy Boat and Milltek best and most aggressive. MTM is monstrous, but costly for US customers. APR went through some vendor issues, and had questionable quality in my experience at shops in ATL-GA. In a 180 Q, Stage 2 makes about 230 useable flywheel HP, and depending on the chip some very useful torque improvements.
