TT.Mk1 Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Back to 2000-2005 (Mk1)

Adding stainless steel braided lines to your braking system will stiffen the pedal feel, and allow for more "robust" braking. They are also stronger than rubber lines, and they look nice ; )

These are the parts included in a kit from ECS Tuning:

Here is the rear OEM rubber line, that will be replaced:

A little zoomed out so you can see where it is:

Simply unscrew the connections, and remove the hose:

OEM versus new Stainless line:

The new line in position:

At the front, start by removing this clip:

The clamp on the shock tower also needs to be removed. Next remove the Banjo Bolt from the caliper:

The new fittings need to be oriented to keep the nut from being able to vibrate loose. Place the new stainless line on the threads from below, and tighten:

Put the clip back on at the shock tower, around the fitting on the stainless line:

New front line in place:
